Assignment #1 Icons...
My objective for creating these icons were to show visually what certain things were. I liked how my icons turned out however if I could change some things I would. I would change the shape of the ice cream scoops and choose a different background for the whisk.
Assignment #2 Texture Space Value...
The objective of this assignment was to teach us the different techniques of texture, space, and value. It also taught us how to use a clipping mask and got us more educated on using the pen tool. In my work i tried to really have a contrast between black and white and show the textures in each image.
Assignment #3 Color Wheel..
The objective of this assignment was to get to know the color wheel better. It also showed us how to align things in a circle and how to further use our rulers. In my design I tried to be as creative as I could with my image choice.
Assignment #4 Pop Art...
The objective of this assignment was to learn how to utilize the color schemes and learn more on how to use layers. It also taught us how to use masks. In my design I used the monochromatic, split-complementary, analogous, and complementary color schemes.
Assignment #5 Photo Mosaic...
The objective of this assignment was to learn how to make a photo mosaic. In my design I chose a very high quality picture to make the picture more visible when changed into a photo mosaic.
Assignment #6 If I Crossed The Road...
The objective of this assignment was to learn how to use masks/layer masks and to try to copy Stephen Kroninger's work. In my design I chose to do a dinosaur theme. I tried to copy Kroninger's style to the best of my ability by using a very hard edge. I also added a childish effect/look to my design.
Assignment #7 Blend Yourself...
The objective of this assignment was to further our knowledge on how to utilize masks/layer masks. I chose to put myself in a picture with the country band, Sugarland. I used a soft brush so it would look more realistic instead of "cut out and placed".
Assignment #8 See What I'm Saying...
The objective of this assignment was to create an image out of the word/letters that make up the image's name. I chose Tinkerbell as my image and used the word "tink" in my design. I like how fun and creative my design is and how it is clear what my image makes up. Next time, I think i would use more variety in the shapes and sizes of my words and letters.
Assignment #9 Design With Type...
The objective of this assignment was to further our knowledge on different kinds of fonts and how to recognize them. It also taught us the concept of figure/ground, value, formal balance, and repetition. I like the way my design turned out. I tried to use a good sense of value in my design and use the correct fonts.
Assignment #11 Type + Photo...
The objective of this assignment was to learn how to combine text and a photo. We were to choose a poem/lyrics and manipulate the text using layer blends on top of our photo. I chose the lyrics to the song Crazy Girl and manipulated them on top of a photo i took of a man and woman embracing in front of a door. I chose this as my picture because I think it really send the message of the song clearly. It shows that the song is about love between a man and a woman. The effects I chose to use also added to the effect of love and calmness. I am extremely happy with how my work turned out.
Assignment #12 Alpha Poster...
The objective of this assignment was to find objects that resembled each letter of the alphabet. I found this assignment very fun and entertaining. I enjoyed looking around everywhere in different places to pick out things that resembled letters. This assignment really opened my eyes and made me use my imagination. I'm very happy with how my poster turned out I think it's easy to see the alphabet clearly and looks kind of artsy.
Assignment #13 Exquisite Corpse...
The objective of this assignment was to create a person or "thing" with a group. Each person in the group was assigned a body part and we each had to create that specific body part. Once we had all finished we combined our parts into one document to create this "thing". I enjoyed this project because we didn't know what the final product was going to look like until we all combined them at the end which made the assignment more exciting. The final product in my opinion could've turned out a little better although I still like it.
Assignment #14 Career Poster...
The objective of this assignment was to create a poster for a specific job career. My career was advertising photography and I chose to create a poster that showed off the work an advertising photographer would make and photograph. We had to tell about the job, list a website for more information, and have a logo. I enjoyed this project because it allowed us to use our creativity. I also like how my project turned out.
Assignment #15 Manuscript...
The objective of this assignment was to create a manuscript like the one's that were made in the earlier years. For mine, I chose the song "You're Gonna Fly" and related my manuscript to the song's lyrics. We also had to create an illuminated initial caps which I did with the letter "H". I like the way my assignment turned out I think it's very pretty and well done.
Assignment #16 History Timeline...
The objective of this assignment was to create a timeline with the things we learned from all the podcast in a creative and interesting way. Our timeline was supposed to be brief and only include important information. I like how mine turned out I think it's brief and to the point and its bright colors draw the viewer in to look at it.
Assignment #17 Combimark...
The objective of this assignment was to create a logo for a company. We had a choice of what company name we wanted to work with and I chose Spin Records because I thought it would be cool to work with a record in my design. I like how my design turned out because I think I use emphasis, figure/ground, and contrast very well. I think my design has a professional look to it.
